Come fall, you can always rely on Vince to single handedly fill your sweater drawer with luxe cashmere knits that you'll wear over and over and over. This season, there's more to Vince than the pullover and cardigan. Vince's Leather Jacket in Brown is a nice surprise. Who doesn’t like to slip into something and feel instantly sexy? Those raising their hands should step aside and let the rest of us enjoy Michelle Mason’s sultry sophistication. This Los Angeles-via-Korea designer honed her craft under the talented Richard Tyler and struck out on her own with an eponymous shoe line in 1996. A year later she launched a ready-to-wear collection, exhibiting an equivalent aptitude for tailoring and draping.

Upon launching her diffusion line in 2003, Mason became accessible to a younger crowd, and soon Nicole Richie had young women clambering to snag one of the line’s fluid halter dresses. And Mason’s celebrity fanbase doesn’t stop there—fashion icons such as Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Sofia Coppola have also been spotted in the designer’s wares.

For Fall 2008, Mason applies her signature body conscious drape to what we're going to call the party dress for fall. With a plunging neckline and gathering in all the right places, the Waist Cut-Out Dress is the smoldering scene stealer of the season so far!

Karta's quirky mod does vintage like no one else. We're talking about bold floral appliques and embellishments of course, which Karta has taken to another level with a double down on daisies. The retro-inspired print and stone embellishment on the Daisy V-neck Dress is a fun way to kickoff fall. And, with the black pant making a comeback this season the Daisy Print Boat Blouse is perfect. Just remember, all that flower power draws attention. If a bee lands on your daisy, remain perfectly still and it'll fly away.

Tobi, Campari and SWINDLE Magazine host The New Classic this Wednesday night at Otis. L.A. duo Su-Lyn Tay and Shadi Askari started T-Bags as a line of, what else, handbags in 2000. Now T-Bags is known for breezy dresses. The T-Bags' summer prints are vibrant multis with long, flowing, light drape in a buttery rayon. The halter dresses have a starlett quality, very young Hollywood, boho chic—a good pick for the weekend getaway.

We picked up Goorin Brothers because the fedora has become the paparazzi shield of the moment, so much so that Hollywood is starting to look like the set of The Untouchables. It's an odd choice really for tabloid regulars looking for privacy. We wouldn't choose Goorin Brothers hats to go incognito. Sure they're great flash blockers, but they're also gawk magnets brimming over with distinctive style. The fedoras and duckbills have a timeless vibe, while the baseball caps have a little street in them. As far as toppers go, if you don't mind the attention, there isn't a more creative or confident expression of individual style than a well played Goorin Brothers hat. Smile for the camera!

Who better to design a collection with some rocker edge than a musician? Erik Hart of Suicide Club, along with photographer bud Elliot Hans, started Morphine Generation in 2003. Morphine Generation rocks because it never relies on easy stereotypes. It's subtle expression over caricature. Ultimately, you won't find an easier to wear collection of edgy pieces.

Wait, easy to wear and edgy? The French Terry Hooded Vest is a great example of what we're talking about. It's a layering piece that you can wear simply with a long sleeve tee or wear with more attitude over a tank. Either way, it's never over the top. We're digging Hart's taste in music. The deep alternative roots are a refreshing change from all the metal references. We hear "You're Lost Little Girl" every time we see the Siouxsie brooding on the Siouxsie T-shirt.

Velvet Men covers all the basics with dressy knits that you can wear day-to-night, all year. That versatility is why designers Jenny Graham and Toni Spencer are so entrenched in our closets. P.S. - Corpus is a brand known for innovative cuts and fits. The jacket that I found fit me the best was actually the women's version of the same exact style, called the Motorcycle Leather Jacket. The fit is a little slimmer through the waist and shoulder, which works best with my skinny jeans.

Dial up 291 for some of the hippest tees and tanks around. Inspired by the beach lifestyle of Venice, California in the ’70s, 291 conveys a retro hippie spirit with a contemporary fit and feel. A nice mix of old-fashioned and futurist, Melissa is an Eco-Tobi favorite, using MELFLEX recycled plastic to channel grandma chic—a huge trend for fall. We're wearing the Vinyl Wedges with Falke tights or some knee high socks.

A sane approach to fashion does not depend on staid tradition. Society for Rational Dress teaches us that forward is the smartest direction to take. Corinne Grassini founded the Los Angeles label in 2005, quietly achieving a cult following in the indie fashion realm. With artful draping, an eye for standout detail and impeccable fit, Society for Rational Dress is alluringly hip.

Inspired by architecture and furniture design, Grassini realized she got the most excited by blending seemingly opposing elements. The Fall ’08 collection continues the designer’s love for juxtaposition. Incorporating handbag-like hardware and touches of leather, slinky dresses and fluid tops are given a bit of weight. The ultimate result is covet-worthy pieces that are a little bit tough and definitely sexy. We think that combination is quite clever—even rational.

The Ringer Racer Top is signature Society for Rational Dress. Tough and feminine, hardware and soft modal with a twist of dramatic drape and gathering.

Let the chic equivalent of sunshine into your closet with Sunner by Susan Denner Lee. After making her mark at Helmut Lang, Jill Stuart and Donna Karan, it’s no surprise that the designer would excel in stylish simplicity that exudes a carefree glamour. Touches of vintage influence don’t detract from the contemporary, beautifully tailored silhouettes that are just so wearable. From airy tunics to body-conscious frocks, Sunner has us wanting to bathe in its gloriously fashionable light.

Sunner's Vanderbilt Dress is our summer dress of the moment. The fuchsia and teal aloha print adds a light, tropical breeze to the romantic silhouette and luxe drape.

The sexy librarian trend made us want to wear skirts around the clock, so we did! Plastic Island's Tucked Mini Skirt is our daytime casual pick. Go with a breezy woven like the Geren Ford Silk Cotton Oxford Shirt, and wear it tucked in to show off the pintuck and draped detailing around the pockets. The brogue, a.k.a, the wingtip, is leaving a dandy imprint on runways left and right this fall. Everyone from Dries Van Noten to Prada is doing a version, but the one we picked up was the most classic interpretation—the one that will never go out of style and the one you'll keep for life—the Nash Brogue by Paul Smith. Thick soled with roomier toe box, Paul Smith's Nash Brogue is a spiffy choice for any suit and a sartorial statement as a dress down option. Paul Smith has created another instant classic.

Tall riding boots are a must for fall, and who knows boots better than Frye? When we think about boots that are truly made for walking, we immediately think of Frye. But we really feel more like stomping when we have our toughly chic Frye boots on, and we know the sturdy construction can take it.

Something's going on with guy's tees. V-necks are taking over! Dressier than the crew, the V-neck is the more versatile tee. It works better under a blazer but is still natural and easy with jeans, and it's edgier which makes it perfect for skinnies. James Perse offers up a classic, crisp and clean Short Sleeve V-neck T-shirt. If basic is too blah for you, Scotch and Soda's Deep V-neck T-shirt comes in a vintagey (it's a word now!) surfer yellow and brown striped combo. The earth friendly Beau Bag has gotten so popular that we tapped Beau Soleil for more of its reusable shopping totes. They gave us the new Beau America Bag in Dark Denim and Light Denim! Converse by John Varvatos is an ongoing, 6-year long collaboration that's grown from a few reinterpretations of the beloved Chuck Taylor to an entire collection of premium sportswear. Ben Sherman is back. In the mid '90s when vintage started to boom and prices for second hand started to tick up, a lot of the venerable brands that were coveted finds made huge comebacks. Ben Sherman is one of the brands we're excited to have back in the fold. Ben Sherman's uniquely mod take on dressing has been imitated countless times but never matched. One of the largest brands in the U.K., Ben Sherman is back with the button ups and retro inspired sweaters that made it the uniform for cool lounge lizards everywhere.

Rock 'n' roll and easy-to-wear aren't generally uttered in the same breath but in the case of Morphine Generation it fits. Erik Hart and Elliot Hans are back with fall pieces for ladies (guys coming soon!) that suggest there is such a thing as the uncomplicated artist. Edgy but laid back and approachable.

Formerly known as Harlow, L.A.-based Monrow from Megan George and Michelle Wenke does casual chic tees that are far from basic. The fabric is ultralight, but not sheer, and the Rococo-inspired prints add a rocker edge that turns the tees and tanks into something supersexy and right at home under a cool leather jacket or vintage cardigan. Monrow's breezy grunge lives on the corner of effortless and cool, which is the attitude sweet spot for celebrity stylists. Rachel Bilson, Sienna Miller and Kate Moss have jumped all over Monrow, and so have we!

One trend from winter that's still heating up summer nights is shine. Metallic, spandex, leather, we're loving anything that sends light back with a heavy dose of glam. If you want a head turning, all night dress Laila Azhar and Imitation both forged some shiny metallic numbers with dramatic gathering and drape. Not the dress type? Kova and T has rocker glam covered with the spandex Oxy Leggings.

Poking through our new arrivals, we even found something shimmery for your shoulder. Botkier's Gladiator Tote Bag in (of course) Metallic Snake! It's 100% Italian leather, no metallic snakes were harmed.

If you're the type that changes four or five times before stepping foot outside, you're in desperate need of Clu. If it takes you forever to answer the question "What to wear?" it's time to get familiar with L.A.-based designers Seung and Jin Lee. Their Clu collection spins California chic—throw on and go, day-to-night, effortless—but Clu adds something more with a nice infusion of sophistication with trend elements like draping, sculpted silhouettes and color blocking.

The Clu Cardigan is a good example of how the Lee duo elevates a basic with simple design touches like contrast trim and color blocking.

We have a serious sweet tooth for candy colors! Work some summer chic into your ensembles by dipping into the candy jar and adding splashes of vibrant color. If a dress in Zinnia (if you don't speak Michael Stars, that's "pink," and he's doing two different shades of it in the Empire Tube Dress!) is too much for you go with something easy like a summer scarf or flats. The Love Quotes Italian Linen Scarf and Keep Juniper Flats are great picks!

The honey dipped Side Saddle Pouch Bag from Foley and Corinna is a sweet day-to-dinner bag that comes in a soft pebble leather. Made in New York, the Side Saddle Pouch Bag is pedestrian friendly with an adjustable strap that can lengthen to give you enough sling to wear as a messenger bag and anywhere in between. It's a good size for everyday use if you're not the pack mule tote type.

Valentine, I choo choo choose you!

I love how fall colors are played up in this perfect summer frock. The metallic threading on the Jewel V Shape Yoke Dress makes any summer day so much cooler. I can wear it around town with sandals and my favorite sunglasses. Then for some drinks at night, I just throw on some heels and belt it! The colors make it surprisingly easy to pair with a variety of shoes and accessories. I picked the Diesel Fogliuma Belt and Botkier Nomad Small Satchel, both in a dark brown.

Our first fall arrival is here, and it's See by Chloe! Actually, this collection is designated as a "Pre-Fall" edition, with all the key Fall pieces in a transition friendly palette that you can easily wear now and well into Fall. Inspired by the Cafe de Flore scene in the '70s, where existentialism met bohemian, this See by Chloe collection (unfortunately the last by Paulo Melim Andersson) is layer centric with slouchy and shrunken sweaters, classic blouses and some vibrant orange and teal prints.

See by Chloe followers will recognize some favorites from last Fall like the Double Breasted Baby Coat (came in an olive green last year) and the Oversized Roll Sleeve Cardigan (came in orange last year). In the recent Nooka newsletter we saw a feature where the colorful summer Zubs were paired with the just as colorful Claes and it looked like the brands belonged together. Both feature original designs that are easily recognized with sleek, clean lines, and both are going crazy for candy colors this summer. Good picks for the creative types that want sporty but cool and original.

We used to think sunglasses at night were kinda silly until Super started popping up in clubs. Started by the Pig Magazine guys, Super's unisex, candy colored wayfarer frames are an '80s bandwagon revival everyone can jump onto. Super is a much needed timeout from taking yourself too seriously in those big lens glam shades. In fact, Super seems to be taking over as the new incognito chic (see our Paparazzi Ready Lookbook). Super makes a style statement without forgetting about quality. These aren't gas station bought throw away shades. Super is handmade in Italy, with lenses made by Zeiss, the German optical giant.

So who's looking Super? Kanye, Sienna Miller...and the Tobi team! Check out the pics below from our latest happy hour at Circolo. Super's Zeiss lenses are great for hiding glazed eyes, too bad they don't help with a Breathalyzer. It was definitely a cab night for everyone.

We spotted our Valentine Jewel V Shape Yoke Dress in the June Marie Claire and loved the way it was styled. Adding a belt to this dress gives you another look. If you prefer tees with more style than the standard crew neck, you'll dig this Corpus Marco T-shirt recently featured in the Summer 2008 issue of Nylon Magazine. Like all Corpus tees, the Marco has a deeper "fashion crew neck" with a thinner neck trim for more edge. The navy and yellow Marco Polo print is a witty take on nautical. Perfect tee with your skinnies, any wash.

Miami Beach isn't the first place we go looking for vintage (unless the vintage you're talking about is deco or Don Johnson's espadrilles), but Kristin Cavallari had the gallery oohing and aahing at a celebrity golf tournament there in this vintage-gone-modern Samantha Dress from Young Fabulous and Broke. The ruffle trim and bow make it a gimme!

What sets Alternative Apparel apart from the other basics brands? Price! Alternative Apparel tees can be had for $20 or less. Plus, they make 100% organic cotton versions of their most popular styles. We have no idea how they make eco so affordable, but we're not complaining.

Alternative Apparel has been around since '96, but they aren't quite a household name yet (like the other "Apparel" brand known for basics). But it won't take long. All of Hollywood is already wearing Alternative Apparel, from George Clooney to Hayden Penetierre and the Gossip Girls cast. Alternative Apparel is the new cool everyday tee.

I love the Collection K Open Cardigan!

This mustard must-have is unique but everyday basic. The exposed shoulders flounce it up and set it apart from all the other cardigans in my closet! Peeking out of the shoulder slits is another favorite of mine, the Avery Safari Blouse by Valentine. The sweet colors and light fabric remind me of cotton candy! Living in San Francisco, I need perfect layering pieces to throw on and a big bag to tote them in. My pick is the Drake Tote by Boyy because it has tons of space when you need it, and when you don't just cinch it up!

We mentioned the bow trend in March, and we're going to be covered in bows through summer. Light and flouncy, oversized and ribbon, any bow adds youthful femininity without giving up sophistication.
