Black Halo's Jackie O Dress looks great on both Katherine Heigl and Fergie! We call it a tie!
It's Dr. Allison Cameron! If you haven't seen House, you're missing a great show. And, if you haven't tried on Black Halo, you're missing out on some amazing evening looks for party season. Jennifer Marie Morrison is sharp and sophisticated on the red carpet in Black Halo's Jacket Dress!
Wondering what jeans Kate Moss buys? Paige Premium Denim of course!
Our favorite Hero, Hayden Panettiere wears Paige Premium Denim on set and on her days off!
Check out Paige Black Label too!
I came home from a nice dinner one night wearing a fancy outfit and was thinking about what to do for our 100th lookbook...I hadn't been able to come up with an idea for days! So, I got tired of thinking and decided to mull over it while playing fake instruments in my living room. I got to "Paranoid" from Black Sabbath (which I finished 96% on "hard" wohoo!). In the corner of my eye, I saw my reflection on the glass cabinet, all dressed up, with my fake guitar, looking kinda silly but obviously having a blast. And suddenly, it came to me. What an excellent idea for the lookbook! |
When you're stuck on something, an answer will always come to you while doing things you enjoy. :)
Happy Thanksgiving!

There's an eco-conscious girlfriend on your list that's in desperate need of a going out clutch. You can't just pick up any old leather handbag. Fortunately, Helena de Natalio does buttery leather in a socially respobsible way. She makes our Eco-Tobi section because she supports fair labor using local artisans in Argentina, and she donates a percentage of the proceeds to Ashoka, an Argeninean non-profit.
Some people think giving shoes as a gift is bad luck, but that superstition was cooked up way before Blake Mycoskie started TOMS Shoes. Giving TOMS Shoes as a gift will bring you good luck and karma all year long! When you give TOMS Shoes, you're actually giving two gifts—for every pair you buy, Mycoskie donates a pair to a child in need.
A.P.C. Madras is a collaboration between Jean and Judith Touitou and Jessica Ogden. The Jamaican born Ogden, known for her deconstruction and affection for arts and crafts inspired layering and distressed fabrics, has worked on several incredible collaborations (including Fred Perry) since deciding not to continue her own collection. A.P.C. Madras started while Ogden and the Touitous were on a trip through India. The idea was to make a collection that was easy indoor to beach wear, using light Indian Madras cloth made in Chennai. Since then, the collection has grown, and Ogden continues to deliver airy classics with a vintage feel.
Contrasting your colors is a big trend for fall, and a good way to balance out all the neutrals. We love our blacks and greys but too much of that gets dour. Kill City and LnA open up the crayon box with primary and jewel tone pops in basic short sleeve tees, skinny jeans and leggings!

Graphic tees are layering must-haves if you're rocking edgy workwear or grunge looks. The Edun Crisis Beloved T-shirt is perfect under flannel!
We're digging the smart streetwear coming from Swedish skate brand WeSC for fall! Along with the standard logo hoodies (and don't forget the sweet headphones!), we get a pretty sophisticated casual collection for guys and ladies. The guys stuff is definitely skater all grown up, even the print hoodies. If you buy one print hoodie this year it has to be the Mozambique! The colors will sharpen up all your denim. The slick outerwear like the Pontus Pea Coat are keepers selling at a pretty reasonable price. For women, besides the hoodies, the story is pretty far removed from the skate park. The sweaters are chic, and the sexy, shiny party dresses keep it simple. Pops of fun color are used throughout. In denim, we're liking all the washes, but if you could only pick one the super clean raw stretch selvage is a must.

Covet designer Tara St. James travels east to find inspiration, and for fall she found it in Japan. Notice the Yayoi Kusama (one of our favorite artists!) inspired polka dots sprinkled throughout, even on linings! The collection's story is about mixing opposites, strong and delicate, shy and extroverted for a balance. Covet's casual cool knits have an appealing raw quality to them, but still look polished and urban. Oh btw, this collection is very eco friendly, using soybean viscose, bamboo and organic cotton and wool!

Best known for making the sweetest rubber sailing boots, Tretorn is a casual, outdoor lifestyle brand that's all about understated preppy classics. For fall, Tretorn's low top Nylite Canvas Sneakers are inspired by vintage court shoes, and the low Vinter Leather Sneakers with padded trim collar are the nautical heritage lace ups. Tennis and sailing, so far so clubby. Before you go popping Tretorn's collar, it's not all prep. Check out the high tops! Definitely edgier than we're used to seeing from the Swedish brand, and we're digging it! At $90, the old school hoops inspired Skane Mids are must-haves!
The big push for guys this fall is to stock up on well-tailored essentials and bang for your buck basics—just about anything you can wear with longevity. That's reasonable. It's smart. But, you can't be comfortable with a boring closet full of blah basics if that's not who you are. This is where Acne Jeans stands out, and why it's one of our favorite collections. It's everyday style staples...basics...but done with a twist, a fashion forward flair. It's an original print here, or a contrast placket there that makes all the difference.

Nylon bombers and leather motos too cookie cutter for you? Here's an original, nylon body with leather sleeves! The Princeton Jacket is sporty but statement.

The Place Vendome Sweater has some of the softest cashmere we've felt this year. Khaki pants, wool trousers, or skinny denim, this cardigan fits right in.

The Pull Sweater is a good example of timeless plus fashion forward. The V-neck drops a little lower than most, adding edge while still being everyday easy to wear. Look front left for something you don't see a lot, the Acne logo!

The multi print on this Classic Wide Dots Shirt is growing on us. There's always a chance of running into someone with the same plaid on, but this dot pattern is original. The woven itself is lightweight cotton, and you have to take our word for it—there is a left chest pocket!
Our studio team considers some PPQ dresses for the company holiday party! Bianca (hair and makeup) on the left is thinking about the Valentina Tina Dress, while Aleza (stylist assistant) is playing around with the Paloma Cinders Dress.
Just hanging out with PPQ designer Amy Molyneaux!

Camenae's hottest wallet this season is made in Italy and features an exclusive design created by renowned Vietnamese artist Bui Huu Hung. His amazing work has shown all over the world, and the pieces generally sell for $3,500 to $30,000. He donated the art for the Dragon Wallet as part of Camenae's "Change a Life" initiative. $10 from each Dragon Wallet purchased will go to charity! This is definitely a collectible, with the artist's signature and hallmark on the inside.
The Dragon Wallet is available for pre-order now, with an estimated ship date of December 5th.
The Michelle Mason girl goes out at night, and the fall collection is all about the P.M. We love how Mason by Michelle Mason does sexy because it's body conscious and flattering but sophisticated, tailored but easy to wear. Our pick is the Waist Cut-Out Dress, simply because it's party season and no one can top you in this dress when it comes to dropping jaws. The cross back halter with cutout at the waist is bold and definitely makes this the sexiest LBD of the season so far!
Best known for his hoodies and snowboard pants (that have been copied dozens of times!), U.K. designer Hardy Blechman's elevated spin on streetwear focuses on details and quality. All of Maharishi's technical innovations have utility and nature in mind, and only the best performing fabrics, trim and zippers ($12 a pop!) are used. A lot of the collection is made from eco-friendly fabrics, which Blechman was using long before it was trendy to go green. We've been chasing Maharishi down for a while and are pretty excited to finally have it for you.
Getting technical is something Maharishi does well. The snowboard-inspired Fixed Custom Snopants are sweet for active people looking to stay comfy on the go. Imitated so many times but nothing comes close. By far, our favorite khakis for fall.
In weather, the Loden Blanket Bomber Jacket is like taking your toasty blanket out and about with you. Thoughtful detail: even the lining plaid rocks...we'd wear that on a shirt!
Signature camo sleeves zip off on the anorak Hunt Pullover Hoodie. Digging the extra hand room pouch pocket. In an interview with JC Report, Blechman clarifies that he uses camo to celebrate nature and art, not war.
Party season is here! What kind of entrance do you want to make? Dramatic, playful, elegant, sexy, dazzling...La Rok has all of the above. You can debut a different look every time out. Hmm, dazzling black fringe frock or playful and wild pewter print with ruffles? Whatever you do, don't step out in anything less than sexy heels, and don't forget to grab your clutch!

| We sent Tobi Style Scout to New York for Fashion Week to catalog what everyone wore to the shows. From Karen Walker to Diane von Furstenburg, to Phillip Lim and Rag & Bone, the photos below prove that even though we love runway-to-realway looks, styles and trends off the catwalk are just as inspiring and jaw-dropping. Check out what these fashionistas wore to see William Rast, Peter Som, and Wren. |
Inside the Roseland Ballroom for William Rast
![]() A lot of designers showed horizontal stripes for Fashion Week, looks like he'll be ready for Spring. Those patent high-top sneakers speak for themselves, but it works even better with matching black socks and cuffed shorts. Autumn, Spring...is there a difference anymore? |
![]() Where'd you get your necklace?! Oversized is so in for everything right now, even jewelry! Gosh, there's so much to like here, from her blue blazer to those rocking tights. |
![]() Alright, I'm starting to notice a trend: Spring apparel for Spring shows. Regardless of the weather and season, these two are wearing timeless pieces in very calming colors. I mean, come on, how can her floral blouse not make you smile? |
The Promenade Tent at Bryant Park for Peter Som
|
In East Village, en route to the next show
![]() Yes! His mix of sharp and edgy works: un-tucked shirt, lace-up Chucks, finished with a crisp grey blazer. Don't hesitate to mix-n-match, you might just end up on Tobi Style Scout. |
At the Wren Presentation in Midtown
![]() Another blue blazer, what a day. Meet Matthew Siskin, creative director and founder of Designed Memory. He might design articulate Web sites for brands like Wren and Obedient Sons, but when it comes to his style simple is always best. |
![]() I spy with my little eye two leopard prints. Looks like it's here to stay, guys. If I had to pick, the one paired with the skirt is easily the winner, something about structure and nature really gets me. For the weekends I'd wear that jacket with her friend's maxi dress, so hot. I wonder what shoes are under there... |
![]() Ladies and gentlemen, making its fourth debut, the blue blazer! Their outfits can belong to the same collection, no? If not, at least the same closet! Wait, wait, I got this: Mary-Kate and Ashley! These looks totally have Olsens approval: black-rimmed frames, quilted jacket, and oxford heels, you got it dude! |
![]() Oh no, stop, please...too adorable! Hey, where's Gretal? This reminds me, definitely gotta get my hands on a good fedora soon. What do you think, Grace Hats or Goorin Brothers? Let me know! |
| Check out looks from Shipley & Halmos and United Bamboo, as well as Lerario Beatriz and Patrik Ervell. |
This was supposed to be a top 10 but we dug each style too much to shave 2 off the list. So, in no particular order, we give you our top 12 sweater picks for guys! The focus this fall is on basics with a point of interest like shawl collar (huge trend!), exposed seams, ombre, etc. This stuff is all mix-and-match friendly, styles you'll keep awhile and wear a lot!

Pour La Victoire, c’est magnifique! This French-inspired footwear line by New York cobbler David Giordano has us practicing our best runway walks. We just know Tyra would scream "fierce!" at the sight of these heels. The buzz around Pour La Victoire centers on the designer's unusual heel shapes and fashion-forward cut-outs. And even though calling these heels tall would be an understatement, they're surprisingly comfortable with cushioned insoles. There will be no teetering on the catwalk in these babies. Or, when we’re not pretending to compete on ANTM, no unfortunate spills when walking into the party.

Who wears the pants? We all do for fall! Trouser fits are hot and the designers behind Raven Tailored, brothers Erez and Eyal Zarur, know how to flatter. If you're familiar with Raven Denim, you know how sexy menswear inspired cuts can be. Raven Tailored's trousers are the perfect office to play pants, and they go with just about everything that's on trend for fall, from conservative sexy to grandma's vintage closet. Make a statement with a feminine pairing like ruffles, a bow, or vintage floral print!

Seun Lim first impressed with a line of dry aged denim that showed us an innate talent for flattering a woman's body. Lim brings that same proportion savvy to knitwear with James Jeans Knits. Chunky yet tailored, cozy but chic, polished while low-key, James Jeans Knits offers just the kinds of sweaters we want to be wearing when the chill hits.

The Poiret Wrap Sweater is at the top of our must-have list this fall. From the oversized silhouette to the black-and-white mélange knit, we can’t think of a more versatile layer that still has of-the-moment appeal.
We've cornered the People's Market! Our entire men's Fall 2008 selection from designer Dexter Wong is exclusive, available only at Tobi!

The People's Market story is all about standing out in urban gear that's fashion forward with a bit of attitude, but still laid back enough to rock every day. From lightweight outerwear to slick wovens, we're digging the way People's Market updates tailored silhouettes with modern design twists. The French terry Helmet Zip Sweatshirt has that signature People's Market design touch and is our must-have. No matter how many sweatshirts you've got stockpiled, you probably don't own one as cool as this!

Cop quick, this is the only spot you'll find these styles!
Check out People's Market on Thrillist!

Despite being a train wreck off screen, Lindsay Lohan always manages to gets it together in front of the camera and in front of the mirror in the morning. She looks great shopping with Samantha while wearing Grace Sun's Printed Tank Top! We love the shades too!

Varvatos has always been about rock and roll, and if you've seen the "Get Chucked" print ads, you know that Converse by John Varvatos takes that rockstar irreverence a little further.
Converse by John Varvatos is an ongoing, 6-year long collaboration that's grown from a few reinterpretations of the beloved Chuck Taylor to an entire collection of premium sportswear. The sports heritage of Converse by John Varvatos dressed up, dressed down rockstar work together to produce an easy to wear, mix-and-match line of everyday casual.
For fall, layering up is the story with easy henleys (short sleeve too), wovens, sweaters and jackets.

Dunderdon is utilitarian workwear that was born on a sawdust covered workshop floor. Swedish carpenter turned designer Per-Ivan Hagberg's designs are modern sportswear staples inspired by blue-collar classics. It's all about style through simplicity and functionality.
If you like your outerwear technical and toasty, but not too gadgety, the Ian Jacket and Andy Army Jacket are clean, sporty styles you'll go to every day. The Edwards Jacket is a lightweight, dressier option that you won't have to check-in when you step indoors. Dunerdon's sweaters are modern cuts of mix-and-match classics. The Stanton Cardigan is the best take on the grandpa sweater trend this year. The fit isn't too boxy, the length is idea for layering, and the shawl isn't overdone.
Dunderdon is a collection that goes with everything and it's durable gear you'll depend on for a long time.
We've always loved L.A. made Habitual for their figure-flattering fits, giving you a little lift and hold in all the right places! Looks like we're not alone!
A big wad of cash is what keeps most people from getting into selvage denim. The price tag on authentic Japanese selvage is something only hardcore connoisseurs can fork over without flinching. But Naked and Famous Denim is shaking up the denim scene by making quality selvage accessible. In fact, we found the Canadian brand through forum buzz. Denimheads were chasing Naked and Famous Denim after reports of someone making quality selvage for a good price. Dunno how they're doing it, but check out the weaves yourself. Naked and Famous Denim is giving the Japanese brands a run for their money on price and quality!
They deserve all the press and should be getting more attention!
Clu is all about sophistication with SoCal style. Designers Seung Lee and Jin Lee have a way with making easy to wear basics and everyday staples special. By adding a design twist or two, simple silhouettes become unique standouts. For fall, a little Grecian inspiration is used to turn a basic long sleeveless top into a smart, polished piece that's easy to dress up. The Sleeveless Top w/ Wrap Detail comes in Grey and Navy.
Our favorite is the Sleeveless Wrap Dress. It's the modern goddess dress in a gunmetal Graphite that's ready for the party circuit!

We're so ready for winter because it's time for cashmere! So buttery soft and toasty, and Qi's cashmere is the lushest of them all! It's all mix and match friendly on top of being budget friendly for cashmere.
Juicy Couture jewelry is in and it's adorable! The necklaces, earrings and bracelets are girly cute, with tons of hearts and playful charms like keys and guitars. It's definitely a lighthearted and fun collection!
Dirty English by Juicy Couture is not your girlfriend’s sweet and fuzzy tracksuit. Juicy Couture’s new take on menswear goes a bit more upscale and even a little darker. We like to think of Dirty English as the bad boy who knows how to dress. Preppy with an edge. Plush cashmere gets the royal treatment in the Modern Varsity Cardigan, with the line’s signature lion covering the back and a bold black band at the arm. The cashmere may feel as comfy as her pink velour, but Dirty English by Juicy Couture is pretty much the antithesis of cotton candy.
Think "attitude and relaxed British coolness." That's the word from Filippa K for the men's Fall 2008 collection, and we're feeling it! Lots of shawl collars and classic tailoring mixed with a bit of rebel, a la 2 Tone and Joe Strummer, ska and punk. Filippa K is a go to for classic but sleek suit separates, wovens and skinny ties. The cardies are must-haves, and the jackets are statement but easy to wear.
It's been a long time since we've gotten excited about a bag, but when this Frye Christine Satchel Bag showed up on the doorstep it was drool at first sight! The Christine Satchel is an everyday chic handbag that comes with a braided shoulder strap that's detachable, nice touch! The soft and supple leather with Vacchetta leather trim might lead you to believe this is a delicate bag but it's far from it with surprising everyday utility. There's plenty of function inside like a zip pocket and accessory pouches to keep important things sorted. Frye has been specializing in leather goods for 100 years—the craftsmanship is amazing and dependable so you'll get a lot of use out of this bag!

We're in love with Gaby Basora's use of vivid colors to paint her vintage prints, and her Tucker blouses are the ultimate in boho fabulous! The volume and gathering on these retro perfect tops makes them a must-have with high-waisted denim! The best part is that you can wear them tucked in or out, you'll look great either way!

Alife's Kennedy High Sneakers are exactly what you need for fall—a comfy sneaker dressy enough to get you in the party. Inspired by the classic Clarks Wallabee, the Kennedy has gum sole with premium leather upper. This is definitely a little more grown up and polished than what we're used to from Alife. We're thinking raw denim, plaid shirt, field jacket, good to go.

It's election day! Take the time to vote this year. Win or lose, at least have a say about how the next four years of your life play out. Rock the Vote!
Encourage your friends by rocking Public Domain's Rock the Vote Distress T-shirt!
Markets are falling, but demand for Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garcons wallets is always at fever pitch! For Holiday 2008, the smart money is in precious metals, silver to be exact. Comme des Garcons embossed A,B,C + 1,2,3 wallets and zip coin purses in holiday silver are now available for preorder. The ETA for them to arrive is November 15, but if you wait that long the one you want might be gone. It doesn't take long for some styles to sell out, so preorder now and reserve one.
Lace is a big trend for fall, and Velvet's Kerisha Dress and Maxella Top are must-haves if you're into goth chic. Hmm, people are counting the days until Twilight comes out on big screen, True Blood is already a hit show, and Vampire Weekend is on every hipster's playlist. Purely coincidence...right? Anne Rice has to be loving the resurgence of romance with a hint of lust and dark intrigue!
