The locals know where to get In4mation. Hawaii's premier skate, surf and streetwear spot got their name from one of the most famous characters in Japanese animation, Voltron. Good taste in cartoons already makes us fans of Ryan Arakaki, Todd Shimabuku, Jun Jo and Rhandy Tambio's vision (...wait, you need one more lion to get in formation!), but, what clinches it is the collection. We're feeling In4mation's print tees because they're witty and eclectic without being over the top. The rest of the collection of sweatshirts, hoodies and windbreakers are all easy to wear and everyday, inspired by that laid back island style.

Every year we pick our favorite jackets, and every year Montreal-based Soia and Kyo (the bridge line for Mackage) has at least a few on our list. We love Soia and Kyo jackets because they're so French chic but can handle a Canadian winter! Energetic, charmingly feminine and packed with vintage details like contrasting lining and oversized buttons, it's easy to fall in love with Soia and Kyo's jackets!

Speaking of, here's a few noteworthy fans that also love Soia and Kyo!
If you're budgeting for just one big purchase this season, make it count by picking up an everyday staple that'll outlast everything else in your wardrobe—a new leather jacket! Classic or cutting-edge, hooded or cropped, or both! There's so much variety this fall that you need to take a good look at all the options before making a decision.
The brands known for leather like S.W.O.R.D., Mike and Chris, and the reasonably priced Doma, have all stepped it up.
Among all the brands specializing in leather, Doma's pricing is the best. Add Doma to your list if you're into leather but not into spending more than you have to.
Brands not known as leather specialists are looking good doing it too, like Vince, Mischen, Soia and Kyo, Young Fabulous and Broke, and See by Chloe. I know we can't stop talking about the Haute Hippie moto in Luggage, but come on, if the last thing you need is another black jacket, that tan is too rich and amazingly versatile to pass up!
What Wrath Arcane does so well is reinvent sportswear and outerwear basics with unique detailing that adds futuristic edge. For fall, Wrath Arcane takes the standard hoodie, trench, and peacoat to a crazy level of originality. Trust me, you've never seen hoodies and jackets like these anywhere. The panelling, closure and pocket explorations are one of a kind, and what's cool about Wrath Arcane is that all this conceptual stuff is still pretty easy to wear. A double breasted hoodie (Wrekover Hvvdie) in French terry cotton is wild but it's still a hoodie you can rock every day.
As always, everything Wrath Arcane is made in the U.S.A.

Sometimes a brand comes along that you just connect with, in every way. The look, the inspiration, the designers, the story. Haute Hippie is one of those brands. They describe themselves as "Five people, one seven year old girl and her small dog—designing, creating and working out of an apartment in New York." Sure, that's a cool story, but the reason we mention it is that bohemian spirit and creativity is completely captured in the individuality of the clothes. Haute Hippie is sophisticated when you want to be, sexy and fun when you want to be, and at all times elegant and chic.
Fall for Haute Hippie is definitely glam rocker, with a few scene stealing going out dresses. The Long Sleeve Sequin Dress is very Mary-Kate, and the Leather Motorcycle Jacket is the perfect throw over. The rich "Luggage" color is a must-have! And, we can't keep our eyes off the V-Neck Tunic Sweater. It has the vintage charm of grandma's closet, but with modern twists. Glove pockets!
When one of your favorite designers meets one of your favorite footwear brands, it's time to go shoe shopping! A Brazilian dream collaboration between Melissa shoes and Alexandre Herchcovitch gives us one of the biggest must-haves for fall—the Joy + Ah Oxford! Enjoy this sexy wingtip in Black and White, Purple, and Gold!
All Melissa shoes are Fair Trade and eco-friendly! Melissa uses recycled materials to make their plastic shoes, and they also recycle 99.9% of the waste and water used in the production process.

The Edun Pop-Up Shop is open! Ali Hewson, hubby Bono and designer Rogan Gregory started Edun as “a marriage of social activism and aesthetic innovation.” They take on several missions, with a focus on helping the world's poorest, developing countries. We're huge fans because it's not just fashion with a conscience. It's a collection you will buy to wear, not just feel good about and toss into the far reaches of your closet.
The Pop-Up Shop's collection, part of Edun's fall "Nocturne" story, is dark and dreamy, moody and kinda Sleepy Hollow chic! There's definitely some Halloween inspiration involved. Hurry and snatch it up, the Pop-Up Shop is only open for 2 weeks! Keep an eye open for more additions (including an exclusive Edun + Tobi tote!) between now and the final day...October 20!

A good way to dress up everyday casual is to throw on a statement leather jacket. By statement we're not talking about throwing a poser biker eagle on the back, or flags of countries you've never even been to, we're talking real Italian leather in a clean but vintage cool style. Ever's Tulcan Lamb Skin Jacket comes in Black and Coffee. The leather is soft but the style isn't. You can still wear your Alife tee and Nudie jeans out, but you're not in high school anymore so step up and add the statement jacket and dressier shoes.

Q: What is raw denim and how do you take care of it?
A: Raw (or “dry”) denim is denim that hasn’t been washed, artificially faded or distressed after dying.
Denim enthusiasts love raw denim because they prefer all the fading and distressing to be authentic and made by the wearer, not the factory. We call it “telling your own denim story” because it’s natural, unique and personal.
Raw denim is all about originality through natural fading and distressing patterns unique to the wearer. For best results, the standard is going 6 months with frequent wear before washing them for the first time.
Keep in mind that raw denim tends to stretch and should be purchased on the snug side. Some brands recommend sizing down, and others suggest selecting a size that buttons comfortably but is fitted throughout the leg to allow room for stretching.
Because raw denim isn’t washed, you may get some dye bleed early on. Run a finger across the thigh to see how much color comes off, as it varies from brand to brand. Just avoid white couches until you’ve broken them in a bit!
To accelerate the break in process, some brands suggest actually wearing your raw denim in the ocean. If you’re landlocked, the alternative is taking a little dip in the bathtub with your jeans on! Wet denim is a little tricky to get off, but this quirky process is part of the raw denim ritual!

Of course they’ll get dirty and stinky in time. Bon fires, BBQ’s, Teppan, and parties always send you home with a scent. To lose the odors without actually washing the denim, some people stick their jeans in the freezer! The denim doesn’t actually freeze, but odors are miraculously reduced over night!
Moderation is the key. You can wash your jeans as often as you want, but keep in mind that hot water will cause the indigo to wash out more quickly than cold or warm. Hand washing is always an option and dry cleaning is fine too. Hanging to dry is best to avoid shrinkage!
If this all sounds cool, you’re a denim enthusiast! Try a pair of raw denim and see if you like it!
If you have any questions regarding particular brands, styles, or fits contact a Tobi Stylist! We’re denim enthusiasts too and would love to help!
